You may try isolating a pure strain with sum culture work then using the pure strain to innoculate with should give a more even flush that way.

Would it be benifitial to "clone" that mushroom becuse of it's agressive actions?

Probably would, if I were really in love with Cambo's, but I'm moving on to bigger and better things like EQ's, GT's and B+. I have this and two other Cambo casings and when they're done that's it for Cambo's for me. I'm not really that impressed with 'em.

In reply to:

hahahaaaaaa
thanks that was needed.
I've been upset about Dr. Bella dying all day!
I needed a good laugh..... I thank you.

I'm not sure whats up with your casing......lets figgure it out.
how deep is the substrate? how much substrate? what kind of substrate?
how much casing is on top of the substrate?
did you put this casing into an incubator to colonize the casing layer?
did the mycelium greak through the casing layer evenly?
what was your humidity?
what temp are you fruiting it at?
are you giving it enough air exchange?

those answers would give us a good start.

Don't give up on the Cambodians......they are a great strain.

Okay, here we go...

>how deep is the substrate? how much substrate? what kind of substrate?
2.5" of 4 lbs of 6 year old Homestead supplied compost. (sterilized and moistened)

>how much casing is on top of the substrate?
3/4" of coir

>did you put this casing into an incubator to colonize the casing layer?
Yes. The tub was sealed and held in darkness at 85 degrees for 4 days after casing the 90% colonized compost (which was spawned with 6 or 7quarter sized pieces of very aggressive mycelium stolen from another casing).
Removed it to the fruiting tub when I saw this guy pin.

>did the mycelium greak through the casing layer evenly?
Never even topped it, what you see is what you get.

>what was your humidity?
Since the tub was fairly tightly sealed, 100%

>what temp are you fruiting it at?
The guage in the picture says 72.1F, but it fluctuates between 72 and 78 at 94-98% rh.

>are you giving it enough air exchange?
Fanning lightly 3-4 times a day.

As for the Cam's being great... I think you'll agree there are better.

everything seems to go right. the coir colinizes fine as are my temp rh and exchange. i think maybe i dont keep it moist enough, kinda scared to waterlog it. but i had a casing outside it it got soaked, i had to pour the water out and it had a hell of a flush. so ill work on keeping it a little moister. ive been thinkin of cloning one of the big ones i get. i dont have agar, thats next on my list to look into. i was thinkin of trying the tek i seen about h202 mix, apiece of stem and a food processer. Ive been dying to try your horse poo tek Road. my ol lady dont mind that i am addicted to this shroom thing, but she aint to hip to the horse shit thing. but wont she dont know wont hurt her. plus i just seen in the paper, "free horse manure for gardens, will help load". Now i dont have to feel like a idiot calling stables asking for free shit, and they will help load!! thanks all!!
