ipod touch....

got to play with one today pretty cool product. if it had bluetooth it would be perfect but still 3rd party stuff will come. im really looking forward to voip on it as teh iphone now has proper voip. its fast intuative and over all neat. some more gigs would be sweet but thats life.

was the screen as bad as people have been saying? someone told me the iphone screen was like 10x better.

I don't understand the point of the ipod touch. It's just an iPhone without the phone, they look exactly the same. The iPhone isn't that much more in cost either. I'm just going to wait until iPhone gets their capacity up to at least 20+ gigs, then It'll be worth it. Right now, 8gb max isn't cutting it. :frown:

iphones screen is teh same 640 by 480 pixels, itouch 640 by 480 pixels. 30fps for both. doesnt make sense they would purchase 2 different kidn of screens. there was some problems in teh early ones with teh blacks but apparently fixed with a simple firmware update.

well iphone isnt availabel in all countrys and you have to sing a contract. also the touch is smaller adn holds 16 gigs.

Well, I'm already with AT&T (ex-cingular) so its no big deal. But I can definitely feel for people that would have to do an early termination w/ their current provider and have to pay fees and whatnot. But they are now selling unlocked phones on ebay I believe and there are places on the web that tell you how to unlock it yourself, I think.

yea. but new update apparently bricks teh phone. sure there will be another soon enough to get around it.

well for what it is worth, i read that to meet production time lines that there were actually several different manufacturers that produced the screens for the I Phones.

The ones with the dimmer screens all had one constant number or letter in the serial number,

im sure you can find the article if you realllly want to know the whole story.

either way, 8 gigs aint enough, and fuck cingular

yea thats teh black problem i was talking about. apparently that problem fixed with teh newest firmware. and i talked to a apple rep said if there was a issue with teh blacks you can return it. also i guess it has to with coating http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1134707&tstart=0
