lately i've been downloading a lot of vocal trance, like conjure one, delerium, above & beyond, and markus schulz. i'm interested in finding more, can you recommend some of your favorites?

I'm not a big fan of vocal, but "sound of goodbye" by perpetuous dreamer(pseudonym for armin van buuren) above and beyond remix is a good one if you can find it.

Hey, I am intrigued by the concept of vocal trance. I've never heard of this genre. Can you post a track or two?

^^^ Trance-y vocal, without the trance, by Imogen Heap.
Hey JC, how's it feel to be flag free? Must be liberating, like burning your underwear.

When you preview your post you'll see an "add attachment" option under it...

I love that song. I happened upon it a year or so ago through a fleeting work friend who said, "You simply MUST listen to this one song!" and played that for me.
Been in love ever since.
I've actually been working on an acoustic cover. No vocal layering though. :P
And yes, it's pretty liberating to shed the M.

Nice. You're Canadian right? There was this group from up there called Perfume Tree, 1996-2000 some of the best trance / breakbeats I've ever heard with lush female vox... Look for their CD called "Feeler" it's BEYOND Awesome.
I'd upload a song, but my disc is all scratched up...

It's not real vocal layering. Just a simple vocoder used on top of the regular vox track.

Pretty good vocal trance track produced by armin van buuren, I'm more into the music than the vocals though.

Well it's both vocoder and layering, but whatever.
That is the unmistakable V-Synth Vocal Designer Vocoder which is anything but simple...

Hey, that is pretty cool....!
It sounds like a keyboard is following her, with the keyboard volume level tied to her vocal volume....

She plays a keyboard while singing. The keyboard is connected to a vocal synthesizer which emulates her voice in whichever notes she plays on the keyboard.
