Isnt there a thing about minors not supposed to be posting here? Wouldnt this open the flood gates for problems for the shroomery?
Ive seen a MAJOR increase in blantant, "im a minor" posts. There should be some kinda routine in the sign up to check for ages (i think this was jjust brought up recently somewhere) and not allow them to sign up if they put under 18, as well as set a cookie that prevents them from just changing it. This way the shroomery has done their part, if they clear the cookies and then change the age, they are by definition fraudulant.
At minimum i think the mods should be editing out minor ages.
the "ow old are you" thread and "loosing virginity" thread come to mind

Thats a fucking great idea. Although I've still got a few months to go untill I'm 18, I'd love to see some kind of age check at sign up. It would prevent the shroomery from having potential legal problems(angry soccer moms), and(in theory) it would keep the maturity level a little bit higher than it's at right now.
3d: If you need to steal some code for this, check out www.nascigs.com . Thats the kind of age check I was thinking about.
I would love to see an age check implemented.

Seriously, the idea of an age check is about as unworkable as all this business about checking IPs to get rid of puppets. The best Idea is to have a disclaimer/liability-waiver. Perhaps a clearly written screen that must be acknowledged during the sign-up process.

Its impossable to deny that age does matter to the media. Cigerettes can't be aimed toward kids and their not even illegal.
Im not saying run a avs or anything, more or less hinting toward the minors to more or less keep it to them selves. There is no need to put the shroomery in further risk then it is because kids are posting that there 15 and 16 learning to grow mushrooms to "trip balls" and "be fucked up".

i have taken it up with 3d and he has the same veiws as i do.... whats wrong with keeping your age a secret if your a minor? I used those terms because its the young ones that generally use those terms. besides keeping the shroomery out of anykind of trouble that could be diverted?

I know there are, thats why i havnt suggestion an AVS, all im suggesting is that the minors simply not post their age. Imagine if somone OD's on whatever, and their parents are snoopin around and come accross this site, then the find the "how old are you" thread. Disaster is short to follow.
