The sensitive subject of ENLIGHTENMENT!!!
    #7348372 - 08/29/07 12:44 PM (16 years, 5 months ago)

[Just to clear up, guys, personally, I DON'T believe myself to be enlightened...]

Of course, a magic mushroom site would have many posts directed towards enlightenment, and the idea that one is enlightened.
The truth is, if you can come onto this site, which is chock full of experienced mushroom users, and say things like "I am enlightened! Ask me questions about life!", implying that you are more knowledgeable about the world around you than another person, then you have not truly experienced enlightenment.

True enlightenment is the discovery of your personal stance in the world we live in, involving your situations, conflicts, and experiences.

Enlightenment is different for each and every person.
Think about this, if one is truly enlightened, they realize what their purpose is, what direction in life they are heading to, and they have complete and calm control of both of these.
They should have no need to even explain to another person, "Hey guess what- IM FUCKIN ENLIGHTENED!!" because it totally defeats the purpose: personal realization.
When you tell someone that you're enlightened, you're adding another person into the equation.

The wisest man knows nothing.
The most ignorant man knows everything.

Welcome to the Shroomery.

Welcome.

You will probably get more engaged responses to this if you repost it in the Spirituality and Philosophy Forum.

"There is a world beyond ours, a world that is far away, nearby, and invisible. And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand. I ask them and they answer me. When I return from the trip that I have taken with them, I tell what they have told me and what they have shown me."

I'm only enlightened because I have possesion of perhaps the mpst useful tool ever conceived by a non-man: The Tome of Infinite Names, it is dark and light and unique and cliche. IT IS.

Okay, I'm fuckin' lying about being enlightened. I am THE KEEPER OF THE TOME, however.

Pleased to meet you and Welcome to the Shroomery.

I have Arsenio Maul names!

Wikipedia said:
The Enlightenment was an eighteenth century movement in European and American philosophy, or the longer period including the Age of Reason. The term can more narrowly refer to the intellectual movement of The Enlightenment, which advocated reason as the primary basis of authority. Developing in France, Britain and Germany, its sphere of influence also included Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Scandinavia, Spain and, in fact, the whole of Europe. Many of the United States' Founding Fathers were also heavily influenced by Enlightenment-era ideas, particularly in the religious sphere (deism) and, in parallel with classical liberalism, in the political sphere (which had a major influence on its Bill of Rights, in parallel with the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen). The era is generally agreed to have ended around the year 1800 and the beginning of the Napoleonic Wars (1804–15).
