I bring up psychedelic drugs every day. In almost all situations. People always give weird looks, especially when you talk about acid.
Fuck it. That's what I'm interested in, that's what I'll talk about.

Different tokes for different folks.
In my personal experience, LSD >>> mushrooms, and I've tried them both an equal amount of times, and in a variety of scenarios.

it's annoying, when you bring it up there's always that weird vibe that takes over as people are like "whoa...he's talking about THAT?"
It's a regular part of my life so I'm gonna talk about it...

At Coachella a couple weekends back I was hanging out in the vip area sipping a margarita waiting for my gf to get back from the bathroom.
This girl walks up to me all coked out and drunk (you could tell on both counts) and asks me what my deal is.
So I just said "I'm from New York City and I love psychedelic drugs, especially acid." The look on her face was great.

My friend who was throwing a party.(diff, kinds of electronic music) he told me there would be some beans and some mushrooms there. So I ask him about some LSD and he says "nah man there isnt gonna be any here and I dont want any of it here.
I took a half of a white on white while i was there.I saved the large peice, about 1.5-2 hits, for a solo trip somtime outside this summer.Well that night the power went out at around 2am.I dosed at like 1 am.Bummer,it did not come back on all night.

But what I am most concerned with is reality, perception of it, and the very nature of it. And psychedelic drugs are a great backdoor into that deepest of conversation.

When you talk about ehtnobotanics to people and medicinal plants,it is always hard not to mention things like mushrooms,DMT containing plants,(that rases some eyebrows),LSD,I dont talk about mdma very much, and things like cacti as well.

Certainly psychedelics can provide great insight, but I've learned to talk about those insights without talking about the drugs.

Two different types of datura(seed grown),a few different coleus, some grown from seed,3 different delosperma species, one of which grown from seed.
Also a few peruvian torch seedlings, one san pedro seedling as well as two large san perdos I purchased at lowes.I have a unhealthy HBWR plant as and some various herbs that died when my dog jumped on my jiffy green house.
Oh and a few nelumbo nucifera plants, and some others I cant think of right now.

Wow, nice collection of ethnos! I have a big san pedro that's got two pups, and a 12" torch with 4 pups. I also have a small torch pup grafted to a myrtillocactus geometrizans. I also have a bunch of various seedlings and a nice sized patch of phalaris grass. Some other stuff too.
I used to have a nice sized datura plant, but I had to get rid of it because my kitten was obsessed with it and tried to eat it. I have to grow everything indoors so there's no hiding it from him.
Sweet garden you got, though. I hope to get down there to chill with BlissedOut and DankSistah someday, be cool to meet you too.

Hell yeah, man. It probably wouldn't be for a few months at the earliest, so I'll have some nice cuttings by then. I really should have taken one from my large pedro at the beginning of this growing season, but a new pup started coming out of the top and I didn't want to damage it's growth.
Blissed and Dank are some of my best friends in these forums, they're the nicest people I know. Funny as hell, too. I 'em.

Same here, it's !!!great!!! because I'm usually hanging out with teenagers, because I am a teenager.
To teenagers, the word "acid" provokes thoughts of horrible things, liken to heroin in term's of "bad-ness" ...
Basically if you take acid, you MUST be stupid, and inevitably, you will become crazy; therefor, one should expect an "acid" user to be supid and crazy, in accordance with such logic.
Best tactic in dealing with such individuals?
Scientifically terminology, and lots of it.
... and mention of the possibilities of endogenous DMT.

I love people who think taking acid a certain number of times will make you insane.
I love them because of the reaction I get when I tell them I've dropped over twenty-five times. They take a non-physical step back, if you know what I mean.

Oh it is great I just finished up high school this year and the people are ridiculus. I mention that I do acid or mushrooms and I get the weirdest looks like I just raped some 7 yr old(ha). People go ahead and say "oh well I do not do drugs." THis is while they are drunk off their asses. SO I go ahead and with the whole alcohol is a drug, and the worst one at that and people just refuse to acknowledge that alcohol is a drug. IT kills thousands of people every year so please find me information that shrooms and acid are bad. please for my sake. save me please. be my savior. well they dont. I do not get it.
I try to explain the scientific qualities of LSD-25 and how it works but people just do not listen. I just hear "dude you are legally insane" or " you can get charged with manslaughter" and all that myth bullshit. I start questioning why they do not question and usually around then someone walks away or just does not listen anymore.

with teenagers, if you use big words, they start thinking you're smart. but you can't change anybodys mind anymore.
I go from trying to change peoples minds to minding my own damn business when the subject comes up and back so many times. All I can do is trip with my friends who trip, and drink with my friends who drink.

Some are smart hippies and druggies.

Yeah, kind of. Because of "state dependant memory" I think its intergrel to talk about the state of mind you were in when you experienced it.
But then again I'm not like most people and see everything in terms of the mind/brain...

I used to not give a fuck who knew about my drug use. I was totally, 100% honest and upfront about it. I would talk about it in class while I was in college, or in a group of people I had just met. But I eventually figured out that it's just not worth it. There's just too much ignorance and too many judgemental assholes out there. So now I share my psychedelic experiences with those who are willing to hear about them. Otherwise, I just keep it to myself. It's their loss, not mine.

I find it really hard not to bring it up. I usually don't have much else to say, the psychedelic experience consumes most of my thoughts.

It used to do the same for me, but then I realized that anything psychedelics can help you with is something you could also do without psychedelics. Psychedelics inspire me, but I'm content to just talk about the inspiration, and not its source.

I'm less concerned about what aspects of life psychedelics can enhance. What the psychedelic experience actually is, thats what interests me.

I'm the complete opposite, everyone seems shocked when I say I prefer mushrooms to LSD.

I personally prefer acid to shrooms. For one, i cant stand the taste/thought of eating shrooms, but theres no worry like that with acid. plus, you consume a waay lesser amount of acid in comparison to shrooms if desiring the same level of effect.

LSD lasts way too long for my taste, and it feels too synthetic, similar to E, minus the love. Mushrooms are the way to go, IMO.

It is especialyl ackward coming from someone who has never tried any drugs other than LSD or mushrooms. Never smoked weed, never done about anything... cept a fair amount of L and shrooms once or twice. I see it as sort of being in a unique position, being known for such a "straight" person to have only tried "one of those devil drugs your mom told you about".... turns a lot of heads.
physchedelica... Discovered it almost a year ago, intriuged by it since I was a teenager. Have an anniversary coming up, I hope Lucy can make it :-) She's on the run but told me she'll drop back to say hi here and there.

I just finished all of my mush supply the other day. I have 6 hits of LSD left which I'm not crazy about, but it will do.
