best horror books......

Anyone got any ideas for me I'm looking for a new book to read.

particulary ones that envolve evil things (beings?), shocking type things.

or even non fiction twisted stories?


or like books about people going insane etc etc....

I bought a collection of stories by HP Lovecraft called "Hp Lovecraft: Bloodcurdling Tales of Horror and the Macabre"
I've enjoyed it ever since and always keep it where I can find it in case I want to read a story. Stephen King gets a lot of his inspiration from Lovecraft's books. :thumbup:

James Herbert is good, he wrote 'The Fog'.

I've read 'The Rats', 'Haunted', and 'The Ghosts of Sleath', all good reads.
