anyone use this humidity gauge and think it's off?

Has anyone used this cheapy humidity gauge before? I'm asking because my friend the dragon thinks for under five bucks it can't be that accurate.

Problem: My friend the dragon tells me that he can't get it to read beyond 87 percent and he is running a tropic aire humdifier in a 26 gallon sterlite bin and a layer of perlite.

Any thoughts on this? My dragon much appreciates your help.

I used to have that when I had my mali uromastyx. It wasn't all that great, but hey it's a cheapo. The strips should work a little bit better.
