os x leapard archive and install???

i am curious abotu the installation of leapard. because it is 64 bit will there need to be a clean install or will there be archive and install. i imagine going from 32 to 64 will need a clean install but wondering what the experts know or think. thanks

I know very little about how processors work.

That said, I'd think that Mac would enable the same thing they have with Tiger installs... Move everything to an "Previous System" directory. Logically, it'd just be stupid to make users erase everything and start over.

I'm anxious to see what Leopard will be like.

looks pretty cool from what i have seen. the animation is gunna be sweet. Ie burner app smokes when burning, then when you blow at yoru comp (and you have a integrated mic which pretty much all do) the smoke will look like it is being blown away by your breath. pretty fancy

mcrosoft makes you erase when you go from 32 to 64 or so i was told.

It should go on fine with a standard archive and install. The only problems I have run into are moving physical drives from PowerPC to Intel machines... doesn't work (for booting) because the partition table format is different. Personally, I will wait until 10.5.1 comes out before updating from 10.4.11.
