You have $20,000 and one hour to spend it. The catches are:

-You can only spend it online
-You must use it towards something material for yourself (e.g. no charitable donations, no stocks...)
-You have to buy at least three things

There is no real purpose for this. Maybe it will help you step back and look at where your mind is wandering - the material goals which are keeping you from being content in the present. Probably it won't. Either way, it's a lazy Sunday morning so give it a go.

i'd buy all the power tools i could ever want but can't afford, a laptop, then i'd order lots of building materials with the remaining 5000, and pick them up at home depot 48 hours later. no shipping, ftw!

then i would build grow systems for cheap and distribute htem for as cheap as possible. overgrow big bro!

A shitload of lab equipment; petri dishes, microscopes, all kinds of glassware, a shitload of chemicals for buffers, preservatives, cultures, medium, hah. Too bad it's not a mil.... then you could buy a brand new electron microscope.

-New laptop
-Probably a couple thousand in books
-Book a vacation (is that material?)
-A couple expensive suits
-Sign up for a few decades of the beer of the month club
-A monstrous television, all the new consoles, and a good surround sound unit

After giving some kind of body shop 3 grand to do some shit to my car with, id buy as much bulk drugs as i could, then multiply that 20k.

Sweet ideas so far!

I would buy a Samadhi isolation tank for sure - they run around $7k.
I would book round trip tickets to Maui and a hostel there (at $20/night to prolong the stay).
I would buy 2 good surfboards.
Books, definitely.  Many books.
A respectable setup and spores for mushie cultivation.  (I've never grown. :frown: )
Some comfortable organic clothing.

I can't think of anything else.  The funny thing about making a list like this is realizing how in reach most of these things are for me if I work towards them, and how little they would really improve my quality of life in and of themselves.  My real needs are much simpler; I had to do a lot of thinking to come up with this list and I don't think the total of the above would be close to $20k.  (Well, depending on how long I decide to stay in Maui. :tongue: )

Give me a few close personal relationships, a few good books, a meditation cushion, and a yoga mat.

Well then I'd probably go after uh, lots of computer parts. LOTS. Then I'd build lots of computers with it, and make myself a business by selling them. lol

ohhh this is a fun one. it was enjoyable seeing what other people would blow cash on.

i'm a huge fan of frivolous electronics, so i would get

-a new very, very expensive laptop. *
-bigass widescreen hi-def tv *
-all the latest and most expensive parts to build a new computer
-a new 80gig mp3 player. not sure what kind
-some very high end studio quality isolation headphones.
-some very high end isolation IEMs (kinda like earbuds)
-a couple turntables, maybe two direct-drive for scratching/mixing, one really nice belt-drive for listening only.
-a really nice amp/preamp/receiver unit for the turntables, and a set of awesome speakers to go with it.
-lots of powertools
-a couple of high end grow lights (probably a 600hps w/ hood and some T5 fluorescents) and a small vortex fan *
-lots of mj seeds
-lots of the best organic ferts
-a cabinet from a furniture store to be converted to a stealthy grow-cab *

*also, a friend of mine is going to vietnam to for a language immersion thing next summer and he wants me to come chill with him after he's done with classes for like 2 or 3 weeks, so i'd buy a plane ticket there.

*and do transactions through craigslist count, if they'd end in a physical encounter? because there's this 1980 diesel engine vw rabbit pickup that i really want on craigslist, so i'd throw down the $4200 for that if i could.

that was fun. i hope i didn't miss anything. and goddamn, i highly doubt i'd be able to do all that in an hour, but i'd sure as hell like to try. the asterisked things are the things i'd buy first, because they're expensive and easy to obtain with the quickness.

hmm, scratch my original. I'd go balls out on making a state of the art computer with multiple monitors, buy a 5 foot hookah, buy all my favorite shisha, get some plane tickets and buy some random gifts and whatnot.
