You can use a forced air kerosene heater, I have one by Remington, spread out your shit over a 2'X2' up to a 4'X4' area, aim the heater at it and presto...Fresh, hot, dry shit. You will have to experiment with the amount you can do at a time. But it will work. (I haven't used this method to dry shit before but have used it on similar material)

That is a very good idea, and I did play with that one for a while, but what worried me was if there would be any fuel products in the manure...

Maybe its just our heater, but it smokes a bit when you start it up, and you can smell the kerosene burning a little... Stamets has pictures of the mutants that can be produced when you have petroleom residue in your substrate... It isn't pretty. I don't think I can risk this method, although I do want to thank you as it was a great idea..

(damn I'm picky) I think I still need a sugestion or two.

IF ya lay it out thin on plastic or something it will dry outside in the cold and keep it so it eill not get snow on it. Just like if you put cloths out side in the winter if ya keep them from getting some on them the wind and cold will slowly remove the moisture from it.

Sounds good... I will start this meathod for now, and in the mean time.. I think I am just going to process small batches as I need it, by chiseling off a chunk (well not quite) and putting it in oven bags, and placing it in boiling water for a bit. It seems to have worked pretty well for the first batch.. I was just hoping to be able to dry it all, and shred it, and put in in a few grain bags, so I will have a no-hassle substrate whenever I want...Add water and just scoup it into a halfpint, add vermiculite seal, and you are done...

I just know that if it is not dry it will stink and I want to be able to store it without worry of the smell or contaminates getting to it.. Thanks for the help.
