Here's a really old Felix the Cat cartoon that's now public domain. It was fun to watch so I thought I'd share. I noticed that Felix does a lot of things that Sonic the Hedgehog does, he can run really fast, go through circular ramps, go through tubes, and curl up into a ball. I wonder if this cartoon was an inspiration?

It looks like most of his cartoons are on YouTube so if anybody decides to go check more out maybe this would be a good thread for posting good Felix the Cat cartoons. :monkeydance:

That was trippy but charming, I like just how raw early animation is. Yeah I can totally see the Sonic comparison, I notice Felix when he's walking kind of moves like Sonic when he walked. Interesting thing to watch at 6 am here :thumbup:

Yeah, especially when he first got to the island... the music shift as he observes monkeys playing baseball (what the fuck?) makes is akin to entering a new territory in a video game...

That one was a fucking trip lol. That was great. They should make a Felix The Cat game that looked and was designed just like that cartoon, it'd be such a trip and a cult hit.

Not quite as old or raw as the first one, and it doesn't have that "game like" quality as much as the first.
But hes partyin hard, trippin out big time. Hows that thing looking back at him through his keyhole at the end.:robotrip:

There's a Felix the Cat game for NES that's a lot of fun, it plays more like Mario though. You can fly planes and get a tank and stuff it's underrated.

Sorry to skip ahead a few decades but how awesome was his magic bag of tricks, he didn't have it in the 20s & 30s. Sometime in the 50s he acquired it.

Arrrggghhhhh. I usually do that, the title of the vid should have been the link.
It is automatically making my links into flash vids so I cant put the link up.

Yeah that was trippy alright, Felix knows how to get down.
the sequence where he got shot out of his car above the city, then gets caught by a fish, that turns into a saxophone, that turns into a trumpet with tail feathers (or something), which then chases him home. He looks through the keyhole and now it has turned into fuck know what.
What was he on I ask you....the roaring twenties indeed...people back then were SMASHED. cocaine in the coke:crazy2:
