spots at the boTTom
    #723065 - 07/04/02 06:00 PM (21 years, 5 months ago)

Hello again, the bottom of my jars are having a hard time colonizing. I mean the entire bottom is colonized accept for a few little tiny spots of BR poking through. The BF and verm got really compact at the bottom during the time of sterilization. So I don't think it has enough air to get really thickly colonized. The mycelium sourrounds the entire bottom but is thin. WOULD IT BE OKAY TO BIRTH THE JARS? Pleas let me know your magnificant insight.

Yeah I would wait a few days also. Maybe shake the jars up and down a little bit to get growth towards the bottom.

Try this, turn the jar upside down and gently bang it on book or something(make sure the jar isn't cracked or it will break and cut your hand open) the cake will drop away from the bottom of the jar.Leave it sit like that for a day or two.
