hi guys , im new here...i have a question about my friends casings. She cased 8 brf cakes into each of them. there in clear containers for now , but in the dark. she will cover the containers with foil to block the light from the under sides..(she just wanted to see what things looked like as they colonize). any way its been a week and she doesn't see any signs what so ever of the mycelia growing into the 50/50 mix, except in the one that she cased with jars that were only 90% colonized, and that casing is only 3 days old. My question is, is it possible the others that show no signs were left in the jars too long? and are maybe dead? she left them in about twelve days after they were fully colonized, and left the tape on the holes untill they were 85% colonized to reduce chances of contams, so they may have been low on air and suffocated(or could the growth be too thick like overlay?). this just seems way too slow, and she would hate to lose this many. is her problem the cakes or her impatience?

Patience...WAIT FOR IT!!... and cover that clear plastic up with duct tape or something. See what's going on from the top ..that's where the action should be.
