I never used to like Daft Punk until I saw them live - now I'm a huge fan. Definitely not for just E heads - its quality. I mean come on, Busta Rhymes did a fuckin remix of them. WTF do you listen to?

Songs to recommend: Around the world, technologic, robot rock, etc.

Im in the same boat as you, Syle. Its very basic, boring electronic music. There is so much better out there.

They may be good live, but most things are when your on various mind alterants :crazy2:

i just don't hear the passion in their music. i hear well arranged effects, that's it. where is the substance. where is the passion in the performance? two people glued to their electronic pads pressing buttons isn't that cool. i could hire a hooker for 10 bucks, setup a strobe light in my living room and have her beat the fuck out of my keyboard in a mimic-ing fashion while blasting some loud death metal and have a better time...

but that's just my opinion.

The only song I ever heard from them was "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" and I dig it when stoned or rolling.

i always knew inflection was tough to pick up in typing/online stuff...but honestly i was pretty sure that my post was dripping with sarcasm.

EDIT: and this post was in reference to my "all knowing god" post. not the one you quoted me on. yes this thread is confrontational, i am challenging anyone to convince me of the greatness and obsessive nature of Daft Punk, I genuinely want to understand it. again, don't let the internet beat you, keep yer dukes up bud.

Daft Punk is so popular because of it's incredible revolutionary sounds, and it firmly established France's place as the best in techno and electronic sound. If you keep up on current club music, Ed Banger records, in association with Thomas Bangalter, one of Dat Punk's duo, has released some of the greatest electronic music in the last 5 years. Groups like Justice, Uffie, Busy P, Mr. Oizo, and many others. Daft Punk's incredibly crafted sound in the albums "Homework" and "Discovery" amazed people, and "Human After All" has left people begging for more with the raw electronic sound now found in acts like Justice. The sound simply induces dancing, along with Daft's amazing liver performances, this is why people are so enamored to this day by Daft Punk.
