Daft Punk! - Warning about their upcoming tour..

daft punk recently made a movie called ELECTROMA. it is a very minimal and subtle film. ALIVE 2006's tour was to promote HUMAN AFTER ALL...but the 2007 show is to promote ELECTROMA, and in true artistic fashion, DAFT PUNK, instead of having the most over-the-top live visual show, will instead play in almost complete darkness for the entire set.

apparently a public announcement is going out for fans to bring their own light sources (flashlights, glowsticks, lighters, etc)...but i personally think it is a money grab...waiting till all the tickets are sold at $70.00 a pop, then announcing that your show will be minimal (hence cheaper to execute)!

i love daft punk, but this is shit! i hate minimal crap...i like my shows and music to be about sensory overload!!!

i dont buy it. What does darkness have to do with electroma?Its not the daft way.

Plus, no one would be stupid enough to get 30,000 people in a sports arena and play electronic dance music with the lights off. That would be one of the biggest lawsuits in house music history for sure!

Assumptions usually end in your own demise. I would definetly go, how dope would it be to be on some pills or something and being in darkness with tons of glowsticks swirling around, and listening to some thump. pretty dope.

yea i wouldn't have minded the darkness. but the minimalist crap would piss me off maybe.

I'm so relieved that this was a joke because i was coming real close to seelling my Red Rocks tickets. i was like telling my friends like.."hey maybe we should rethink this" all cause of an april fools joke. Nice prank. good way to get a buncha daft punk fans pissed. lol.

Damn pussy? Ani but that's bullshit - you are a student, so summer for you is rife with possibility and freedom...I am six months into a climb out of the financial cellar and not only will I not be able to take that time off of work, but I also am hoping to find a better job this summer, and when you start a new job it's not so good to say "oh by the way I am going to Colorado such and such week" - cause the DP show is in the middle of the week.

Plus, I just spent 500 dollars on Coachella-related stuff...

I'm in the same position. I hope to get a new job in the next few months that will pay MUCH better but it will kind of put a limit on how many days I can take off this summer. You just can't take off a dozen days within the first few months of having a brand new job. Oh, to be a student again.
