Help! Scale? Weird insects eating my Croton.
    #7209805 -

They have hard exterior shell and are soft bodied underneath. They are all over my croton. What should I do?

Thanks in advance.

try and spray them with tobacco water if you have a tobacco plant or have cigarettes. Then, if not before the tobacco water, take a sample to a garden store that would have experts there and ask them what product to use on it.

Quote:
recipe for antibug meltdown
1tsp citrus oils
1 gallon compost tea
1 tsp molasses

the orange oils eat away at the bugs exoskeleton, weakening it.
the living organisms in the compost tea start to feed on the weakened bugs, getting stronger as they consume molasses nutrients! eventually the bugs will be devoured by nature, and this spray is harmless to all of the plants i have tried it on.

from a thread in my journal...

Interesting... I do have a small compost pot, with probably about 1 sq ft of compost right now. How do I get compost tea?

fill a bucket with water, fill a pillowcase, cheesecloth bag etc with compost, and soak it in the water. try not to put hot water in there, you wouldn't want to kill any microbes
