the sound of vinyl...

does anyone else here have a record collection they actually listen to?  outside of djs... I have a ton of 12" singles in my collection.. but, i'm more talking about old rock, funk, hip-hop, etc...

I don't have a huge collection of this stuff.. but, what I do have i love to listen to now and then.. it just has a nice warm sound..

right now I'm listening to an original of 'Wish You Were Here"

other stuff I really like to listen on vinyl:

The Wall

Blackalicious: "N.I.A."
Jefferson Airplane
The Doors
The Talking Heads
Aesop Rock

i've got a bit more..

Yeah I love the small crackling sound. They sound heartier on my ears, alot more depth to the sound.

I have mountains of them, but i DJ. I have several friends that buy records to play on my tables with just because they like the sound and feel of vinyls, plus they are just great to collect.

i've never bothered to count my collection of electronic vinyl... not a ton... like, 1000-1500 pieces...

ive got all kinds of old vinyl..mostly old rock..like zep ,floyd,hendrix.... still have a decent turntable to listen to them on as well:)  anyone remember the old master recordings of albums they used to sell..those always sounded incredible:yesnod:

I love the sound of vinyl

I don't have any atm, or a player, but my uncle has a huge collection including all Beatles, Floyd, Doors, zepp, etc... that he is going to give me when he drives down instead of flies

I also love the sound of old recordings from 1940's and back, with all the white noise and pops and whatnot, it adds a raw aspect not found in almost any music today
