Jefferson Airplane

I'm 21 so I'd never really heard any of there music. Sure I'd heard the song "White Rabbit" but never really given them a proper listen. I got the CD "Surrealistic Pillow" from my dad and just am now listening to it through properly. I'm sure someone here has or does listen to them and was wondering what another good CD is?

yay, jefferson airplane rocks! check out After Bathing at Baxters, Crown of Creation, theres lots more thats good too. Surrealistic Pillow is definitely best though :grin:

the house on pooneil corners is one of my favorite songs ever.

I would go for "After Bathing At Baxter's" next.  It's their very next album.  It's more psychedelic actually than SP.

Little known "Early Flight" is a good one once you have exhausted their standard albums.

I used to have "You are the crown of creation" in my sig. :laugh:

I fucking love Jefferson Airplane, though after the first few albums they go severely downhill and never recover.

Surrealistic Pillow is great and has their classics and most memorable songs. It's more traditional. My favorites are White Rabbit (of course), Coming Back to Me, and 3/5 of a Mile in 10 Seconds.

After Bathing at Baxter's is my favorite, but I always thought it sounded like crap until I listened to it on acid. It's very progressive and strange, with ten minute long instrumentals etc. I love almost every song on this album, especially Slick's contributions, You and Me and Pooneil, and Last Wall of the Castle.

Volunteers is not nearly as daring as the first two but quite pleasant nonetheless.

Same with Crown of Creation.

IMO those are the ones most worth listening to.

The guitarist of JA Jorma Kaukonen made good record called Quah. Also Hot Tunas Burgers album is worth to checking, its a quite mellow stuff.

2400 fulton street is a great compilation 2 disc set chocked full of goodies!
