What's up with this band?

Surrealistic Pillow is a fucking masterpiece. Shit's been growing on me every day. I play it more then anything.

Their other albums all suck though :lol:

Did they have a personnel change or something? Did they just use up all their good ideas?

Surrealistic Pillow is the only album of theirs with Jerry Garcia on it.

I believe Jerry arranged some of the songs and even sat in and played on a few of them. He was a big part of the album.

I had no clue! Explains a lot. The professionalism and quality of that album is just miles ahead of anything else they made.

Jorma has quite the musical mind himself. I really enjoy a lot of this work Another very cool band much ahead of its time.

I didn't know Jerry was on that album, put that mind with Jorma and Jack Cassady and you're bound to get greatness!

I've found some Dead shows from the early 70s with Jorma jammin' with the boys. Fucking amazing.

I looked it up and Jerry is credited as "Spiritual and musical advisor" - pretty funny. He played guitar on like 5 tracks too.

It's funny. I hated the album at first except for the two hits. Now those songs are just "alright" compared to others. 3/5 of a mile is a kickass song.
