WASHINGTON -- Immigration legislation returns to the Senate this week with the White House hoping that concessions to conservatives and pressure from business will draw reluctant Republicans on board.

The measure, a major priority for President Bush, was pulled from the floor June 7 after twice failing to get the 60 votes needed to cut off debate. Since then, $4.4 billion has been added to improve border security, and further changes are expected to emphasize national security and try to quell the revolt on the right.

If there were term limits then none of our representatives would give a damn about these illegal immigrants. All they are to congress are future votes. Bullshit, they arent sent the to represent and work for the illegals and immigrants, they are sent there to work hard for the people that voted to put them there.

I find Bush's position on this to be reprehensible although that is what it has always been. He was never shy about it. On Iraq, he remains a stalwart. Ron Paul is still a retard for so many reasons I have barely scratched the surface.

Twenty something new amendments added today to the immigration bill and Reid Demands Vote on Immigration Amendments without Divulging Actual Text!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:wtf:


When Republicans asked if the new amendments could be read once it was written, Reid objected because "it would take up too much time."  Reid is promising the changes in the new amendments to be minimal, yet he has yet to allow Republicans to see the new amendments  much less to check the changes.


And yesterday, the White House all but said that the President Bush didn’t give a shit what’s in the new amendments....

I guess when our leader does not give a shit why should Reid....

I,m watching the second cloture vote on c-span. Reid and Obama are fighting with some of the southern Senators, Maybe they lost some votes after the amendments. I think the bill is in trouble:thumbup:
