Re: Enter the Terabyte Age! [Re: whiterasta]

I only have 80gigs in my laptop, but I have an external 320gig drive. I have over 45,000 songs on it, but I can't say I like every song on there. Half of the songs on there are because people look through my library and say "Awww, you don't have ___!?!?", so I add artists I don't like to keep other people happy. Meh

edit, 80 gigs inside, not 8 :smirk:

It would be nice to have a tarabyte hard drive just hanging out in my laptop, but we entered the tarabyte storage age (at least in my mind) with the xserve and xserve RAID server setups. We may as well just all set up small server farms. I've always wanted a glorious, climate-controlled and overly secure data center. Maybe just add it as a wing to my basement. Then I could charge large companies outragious sums to store all of the data necessary to function in this tarabyte age of global commerce. Or maybe not, but farmers are cool, and servers are cool, so farming servers must be super cool.

Hmm... Climate controlled, super secure? Aren't you thinking of farming something else?
