girlfriend dumped me cuz of drugs

First of all, Im not a junkie on herion or anything. The only drug i have ever done is Salvia, i havent even smoked weed.

Anyways i after my salvia experiences i wanted something more. Something that lasted longer and had visuals and what not, not just something that mindfucked you for 5 minutes. So i started reading up on Shrooms LSD and Mescaline.(Disclaimer: i am not looking to shrooms to get fucked up i want to have a psychadelic expierances along with the insight that can come with it) Anyways i started talking to a friend of mine at work who has done above mentioned drugs. Now he is going to be able to get me some shrooms. So i told my girlfriend of 3 years of this interest and she pretty much told me it was either i chose her and never satisfied my curiosity, or tried these things but lost her. So i chose the second option and she broke up with me.(BTW we are 18) Now please dont excuse this for high school drama and that shit thats not the kind of responses im looking for.

My question to you is, does this make me a bad person? I feel like shes not letting me be who i want to be, but am i wrong in thinking that?

Any answers would be wonderful, thank you.

Well... my ex had VERY strong feelings about my drug use, and my God it was hard to hide from her. Which I shouldn't have had to do, mind you... she should have been able to accept me for me.

Turns out she's a stripper now, so YAY MORALS.

You're not a bad person. you're your OWN person, doing your own thing. If she can't handle that you're different to the usual "lols let's get drunk and smasha tv" jock idiot, that you like to advance yourself and find out more about who you really are... forget her.

I've been down this road before. Some people just don't want to understand. I say fuck them! I refuse to dramatically change my lifestyle for anyone if they don't like me for who I am. You're not wrong in your thinking, and you are not a bad person for enjoying your mind.:cool:

if she doesnt want to accept you for who you are and who you are to become, she's
not for you, part of human nature is curiosity... it's growing experience, just
make sure you're informed about what you're doing and dont get to carried away in
the future.

there's nothing wrong with taking mushrooms just for fun. hell, i smoke salvia just for fun. it doesn't always have to be a deep spiritual trip.

Yea bro im not going to be stupid about it, i have been lurkin here for a while, 420chan, and reading as many reports on erowid that i can.

Of course not!  You made the right decision.  You could have lied to her and snuck around on her, but you didn't.  You could have caved under pressure from her and suppressed your own interests in order to 'keep the peace,' but you didn't.  You should be proud.

I don't know either of you, but if she can't accept you without rejecting parts of you, she is not the girl for you.

You sound like your approach to drug use is sensible; I think you'll be just fine.

good to know, the drugs you've taken an interest in are pretty safe, you can do
some foolish things on them but they wont do any significant harm, a fatal
overdose doesnt happen, maintain a fear of drugs that it can occur on.

ya i also dont see right after that, do you realise i tried to claw my eyes out and had to wear a patch like a pirate for a year, they didnt think id be able to see again but now alls i see is scratch marks in my vision which makes for a trippy effect when tripping. I also ran through a glass door and fell down a flight of stairs

Yea i have no desire to anything more than what i listed cept DMT, that about extends my interest in drugs.

Anyways, Im now glad i made the decision i made. Thank you shroomery. We started talking again (we do this on and off thing alot) and she said shes gunna start researching it. But like when i told her i planned on trying them soon (she assumed when i went to college this was going to be happening and i didnt tell her about the guy at work cuz i didnt want suprise visits when im tripping) she flipped out on my again. I dunno its frustrating.

How you act towards yourself and such (using drugs etc) doesn't make you a bad person at all.  This is your life and you can live it as you see suit.  The only thing that would make you a bad person is if you're acting towards another person in irrational and cruel ways.  I think you're probably an upstanding citizen from the sounds of it, who's curious and open-minded, but unfortunately the person you're in a relationship (or that you were in a relationship with) obviously isnt' as open-minded. :O

Plus, if someone dumps you out of drug use like salvia, they aren't worth sticking around anyway.  Sounds like someone who'd be pushy and want you to live her way.  You're better off. :smile:
