Trent Green goes to Miami.
    #7014267 -

for practically nothing. Miami gave KC a 5th round draft pick for the QB out of KC, which can be upgraded to a 4th round pick depending on how well Green plays next season.

what a grab for Miami.. Trent Green is still a pretty solid QB, he has never had much help with a solid WR corp in KC, he should do well if given the chance in Miami.

He's still injured, really, I doubt they will get much for him in a trade. They'll probably just work with him for the season, and see where he's at. Either that, or cut him altogether.

Miami offense might be something this year. Green, Ro. Brown, Chambers? They've been garbage since Danny Boy left in 99. Green is no Marino, but he's an accurate passer. Should fit in nicely.

Green will be a good space filler until the kid from BYU is ready.

Right after I posted this, I read an article on ESPN.com about how they're going to deal Culpepp now.

I went to UCF, so I hold a special place in my heart for the guy. Too bad injuries really fucked up his career. I hope he can find his way with another team. Who needs a starter?

Maybe Jacksonville and compete with Leftwich, or Detroit and compete with Kitna...

A long shot, but maybe the Bears? Grossman has about a stable a foothold as I do as a starting QB in the NFL.

That's why they got Brad Johnson though. He's a solid backup.

Daunte needs a hardcore receiver. Detroit and Calvin Johnson might give him what he had back in Minnesota when Moss was still the shit.

I hope he goes there. It would be interesting to watch.

jacksonville wont be tempted, they have enough of a QB dilema between Leftwhich and Gerrad, who are pretty much the same to me.

cowboys wont touch culpepper either, atleast they better not, thatd be a stupid move to pass on Brady Quinn in the draft but then trade for culpepper. NO.

tons of teams need a solid backup, someone who could challenge a starter.. the list is far too long to even speculate right now.

49er's... Arizona... Giants... Titans? sort of... Atlanta behind Vick (boy thatd be interesting).. who knows.

why not.. detriot actually would be a pretty good fit. and everyone knows they need the help.. and they def have the weapons.. just not a very good RB to take pressure off the passing game and QB.

nah on tampa.. they have simms and gradkowski.. 2 very young talented QB's

and Vick isnt going to get suspended or anything, and he shouldnt.. i just think hed be a very good backup and vetern to have around Vick.. even though Vick has been in the league awhile now.

The Texans could be in the running as well.

he might work in detroit but with the vikings they ran a pretty
simple offense. moss go long.
i don't know enough about culpepper to know if he could run a mike martz o.

Tampa is one of the few teams you can count out. Garcia, Plummer, Simms and Gradkowski. Whoever is starting, Tampa is going to suck again because Jon Gruden sucks.

Yeah, somehow my sentence about how I liked Kevin Jones disappeared and that remained. I do like Jones, and I think the Detroit oline sucks.

Bears would be Daunte's best option.

Im sure he could start the first few games in Oakland, but he would obviously only be a stop-gap for J Russel.

Texans maybe... Redskins maybe... Buffalo maybe... Chiefs maybe..

Atlanta maybe 2008

As Far as Detroit, im sure Mike Martz doesnt want Daunte.

Tampa is too crowded, so is Jax.

Duante Culpepper would not work in Chicago for numerous reasons...

1) Our offensive line is not built to protect a guy who runs around. And Duante is not a pocket passer by anyone's definition. He *needs* to be on the move to throw. And we dont have the guys to protect a QB like that.

2) We dont have a receiver for him. Listen, Duante is not that good of a quarterback. Randy Moss made him look really good for a few years because Duante could just throw the ball 12 feet over the defender's head, and Moss would go up and get it. Did you see him play in any games w/out Moss? U-G-L-Y. The Bears have alot of small, quick receivers. We dont have any 6'6" guys with 5 foot vertical leaps.

3) The Weather. The guy played in the dome in Minny, which is perfectly suited to him gallavanting around the arena and all that. He could do that in Chicago, sure. Until October, when it starts snowing and the field turns to mush. Maybe he should go play in Atlanta or something?

I'll take my chances with Rex, who I guarantee will be greatly improved this year. 6 games last year w/ a QB rating over 100? If he can pull of 10 of those this year, thats the super bowl again for sure.

I don't want him in Detroit, but all the reasons (other than maybe the O-line) are good cases for him coming here.
