Embracing Uncertainty.

I think this is about the biggest challenge I have faced in my little life. I certainly want certainty. I felt so out of control and afraid when I was a child that I desperately needed to feel that nothing bad was going to happen. This program still plays itself out in my life today.

There is no freedom in trying to control a chaotic universe IMO. Anyone here who preaches ultimate truth is living a lie and failing to deal with the fact that we don't know most of the important things about life.

Will I find love? Will I have enough money? Will people like me? Will I be threatened physically? Will I live? I think we worry every day, most of the day, consciously or unconsciously about these things and so have little time for just being relaxed and playful. We can't play until our security is assured. This will take up most all our time and energy.

Being able to be uncertain is freeing oneself from the energy sapping fear of death.

The quality of your life may well depend on how much uncertainty you can handle and how good your coping mechanisms are for dealing with the uncertainty you don't handle.
