Questions on Dunk TEK

I just came out of the FAQ but still have some questions on the dunk TEK. First of all it didn't say if it is actually better to do it upon birthing. If Dunking wont hurt the mycellium then why is it recommended not to mist it directly when trying to upkeep humidity. Basically I want to know if I should dunk upon birthing or give the cakes a flush or two before attemtping to do it. Thanks for the help!

hey ive heard people doing both, i case mine so i dont have much experience with cakes. by the by do you go to UofA or ASU???

Personally I would just put the cakes in the terrarium without dunking for the first time, and then dunk in between each flush. I am no expert but I believe that misting the cakes directly could cause your mushrooms to abort and rot. After dunking your cakes will probably need a few days to recover, thus each time you mist the cakes directly they will need time to recover from the water. Hope this answered your question, although I'm not too sure that I am correct.
