I cant find the dunk tek what is that.

If you have a cake that is dried out, you can regenerate by keeping it under water overnight. This will sometimes bring forth a few more shrooms.

The dunk Tek is basically the submerging of your cake into sterile water to give it
the moisture it needs to produce big, fat, healthy shroomies. I dunk mine before i
even birth them into the birthing chamber, some people do some don't but this
is how you do it pretty much. Fill a pint jar about half way with distilled water,
then boil the jar or presure cook em. Wait for the jar to cool to room temp, then plop
your little cake into the jar. Screw on lid and wait for 12 hours, some peeps say
24 hours. Then birth them into your birthing chamber. Well that is a newbies take
on the dunk tek.

pretty much what i have read or you can use a bowl and a plate just go to search here and put in dunk theres a guy who gets awsome flushes from dunking i'm a believer and plan to try it...

Why have you revived a 10 year old thread with bad info? Dunking is good and flipping is not recommended. Here are two recents quotes of RR:

"Definitely don't flip. This often causes them to abort. I've seen mushrooms push a ten pound rock out of the way to grow, so a tiny brf cake is no effort at all."

It doesn't have to be sterile water. Think about it, it's not like the cake itself is sterile so even if you had sterile water, as soon as you put the cake into it it's immediately not sterile.

Ideally you could submerge the cake in a pot of drinking or spring water (like the gallon jugs) but if you have good quality tap water, that works just fine.

I wouldn't use distilled water just because it's totally devoid of minerals. I would think the mycelium uses minerals found in water just like most everything else. Even if it doesn't you could rationalize it by saying the myeclium wouldn't be using distilled water in nature anyway. It would be using rainwater and groundwater.. Which isn't sterile either :wink:

I'm assuming there has been a full harvest and there is no pinning. Immediately after harvest, I have been flipping for hmmmm.... 16 years without a hitch. Matter of fact I'm flipping out right now reading this ridiculousness.
