chlorine?
    #694234 - 06/22/02 12:05 PM (21 years, 9 months ago)

would the amount of chlorine in tap water effect the shrooms? i recently started to work for a company that produces water filters for sinks, showers, refridgerators and even camping, they all filter out chlorine as well as bacteria and what not, so would this water be better? im gonna try it on my next batch of quart jars and use it to mist my "products". seems to me like it would end up cheaper in the long run, why run to walmart when the sink is just as good for you and the shrooms?!

Cleaner water couldn't hurt. I have pretty hard water where I live so I get alot of build up in my PC if i don't use spring or distilled water. Since you have cheap access to filters go ahead and use them. Good Luck.

I use a pur water filter with great success. The BS about it not having the microscopic nutrients for growth are un true. They will grow on pure H2O with substrate.

Water isn't a huge factor. Tap water will do but if you can get cleaner unfiltered water then go for it. I've been using reverse osmosis'd water for a long while now because I get it so cheap (2.99 for 18L)

I don't think it's realy an issue but it can't hurt. anyway, the "product" couldn't contain more clorine that was originaly in the water you used even if it is bioaccumulative(sp?) in the fruit bodies. it's not any more likely to hurt you than drinking the same amount of the water itself. as for it's effect on potency, yield, quality, etc. it seems to be neglegible if anything.
