Morchella Esculenta mycelium color
    #6925423 -

I have a morchella esculenta culture that I received from a shroomery member. I inoculated 5 PDYA plates. Observed them today, and I have hyphae that appears to be white along the outer ridge of the culture, but the inner most section of the culture appears to be an olive green color. I have never seen Mycelium grow Green. I would have pictures for you guys, but my batteries are dead at the moment.

Is this a normal color for this variety? I am doing some research on it now.. I have heard of other colors, brown and orange...

I opened one up, it had like no smell...

There is one that appears to be hardly any color (just a light white), *inncoulated on the 12th* it has a very stringy whispy appearance. and it has covered the entire plate. How long does it normally take to darken ? Im thinking I should transfer this plate. (im wondering if the green is trich.)

I isolated the white cottony mycelium.

Thanks guys!

Do you think the Morel is faster colonizer then Trich?

Yes. Morel will completely colonize a petri dish in about three to four days. It can look cottony or even almost clear right at first, but then usually darkens up and grows extremely fast.

I transfered it yesterday, from the cleanest dish, and now we've got no colors going on, already a nickel size from all dishes transfered. Clean cottony growth.
