i don't think that i would transport them usps or ups for a number of reasons. they could get too hot or cold, broken, or worst of all.....you could get busted. the car transporting will not be a problem though as long as the temperature doesn't get too extreme. why can't you just take them with your clothes and stuff when you go back to school? it's not like they take up much room or smell or anything.

Mostly because I'm flying home. If I checked my bag under the plane, wouldn't it get too cold?

i have no idea. never flown. have you thought about this?:

go ahead and prepare the substrate and sterilize it as usual but don't innoculate them yet. then it won't matter about the temp. just use your spores as soon as you get back. i've let my jars sit for a while without spores before just to make sure there are no contams. it shouldn't be a problem.
