Brown lines on stems

I've heard that brown lines on your stems means they are contaminated due to to much water, is this true and if so are they safe to eat or should they just be tossed? So far I've tossed a few not wanting to risk it but a lot more are getting these brown lines. Thanks.

They are not conataminated. They are fine.

Why didnt you ask before you threw out good shrooms?

I didn't want to risk it being contamination since it's my first time growing plus, so I got a little excited and tossed 2 or 3 of them.

But be careful smelling contaminates. Some can cause serious illness or death if you get a big enough whiff.

Actually there in bags, I think I sprayed umm a little too much. They were just 2 or 3 little shrooms probably about 1 or 2 grams a piece wet. the inside of the stem was also light brown so that worried me. So they would've been ok to eat?
