Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)

...anyone ever had one? I know it's common among women, but any of you guys ever have one? I know this is strange... but I think I may have one. After pissing and still feeling like I needed to piss and a slight burning, I checked out the symptoms and they're presenting themselves.

I really doubt it's an STD since i haven't had sex in months, and I'm just now getting this. It's uncomfortable and very badly timed. Anything I can do w/o going to a doctor? any over the counter antibiotics? I figure I ought to go to the clinic here and get free STD testing just to be sure (and i plan to after my last exams on monday), but the symptoms for UTI are checking out to the T, so i'm pretty sure that's what it is.

someone give me advice.

Yeah I've gotten that a few times. Never any possible cause that I could think of, just kinda happened. Nothing over the counter will help. You gotta to to the doctor and they'll check your urine and prescribe you a strong antibiotic. Simple cures are always a relief. I can't imagine how life was before antibiotics were invented.

I've had a few little clusters of days that I've had the symptoms you described. Never went to the doctor for it though, and after two or three days it always stopped. Idunno why it happened though

well from what i read, sometimes it can clear up on its own. other times it can spread to the kidneys. I'll end up giving it like 2 days anyways, simply because i cannot be bothered with it until i get my last two finals out of the way. maybe it'll go away in that time.

if not, i guess i have to go off to student health services.

and no, it doesn't feel like peeing rice. that sounds more like a kidney stone to me.

I've had those symptoms. Sometimes they got worse if I ejaculated when I was drunk. I thought it was a bladder infection. Never saw a doc; hasn't happened in years.

my roommate who's a bio major (just took anatomy and immunology) also suggested i just increase fluid intake in general. lots of water, lots of cranberry juice, should go away. so for tonight, just water. then i'll pick up some juice tomorrow. silly urethra, why did you have to do this?
