from what i've gathered it is an incredibly nutrient-dense food. it is very high in vegetable protein, vitamin A, B-12, and phytonutrients.

pure green nutrition all the way. :earth:

i tried it for a while as a yoga teacher suggested it would be good, however the dose on the bottle made it finish in a week, and its pretty expensive.

the bottle i have here will last me 60 days when taken on a daily basis. i payed close to $20 for it.

i will evaluate my mind-body over the next two months to see how this algae benefits my well-being. if i feel it is worth continuing i will find no problem in investing a little money for personal health.

i just found that they sell 4lbs of this stuff in powder form for around $60, that's over 250 days of daily servings, which in retrospect is really not bad at all in terms of money i think.

i thought you would need to take a lot of tablets to get the benefits, am i wrong?

probably depends on the purity of one's diet. they recommend 3 grams a day for normal use, 10 grams for therapeutic use. i expect no more than a week or two to see noticeable results.

Where are you buying this stuff from?
Any nutritional difference or difference in ingredients between the pill and powder form?

NOW Spirulina Powder 4lbs

Earthrise Spirulina 500mg Tablets

i see no significant difference in nutrition density. although the powdered form does have a much higher concentration of vitamin A.

I take chlorella which is the oldest single-celled plant on the planet..is it a green algae like spirulina but with the highest chlorophyll content of any plant known plus a true nucleus which spirulina doesn't have. DNA and RNA.

Chlorella also has Chlorella Growth Factor (CGF) and its indigestible cell wall binds with toxins and flushes them from the body.

The only benefit I see to taking spirulina as opposed to chlorella is spirulina has more protein.

i have been drinking those soy protien mixes recently which contain spirulina.. i dont notice much. i think its a constant battle of healthy foods mixed with... some other things that arent so healthy lol...
even though i eat alot of organic food, etc... im not as healthy as i possibly could be, but my mind gets things better this way

look at newstarget.com for their reviews on those green powder mixes. I tried Natures Balance which is supposedly the best-tasting, though, and it tastes really weird. It's loaded with all kinds of vegetables including chlorella and spirulina so I drink a mix of it when I haven't had many greens in a day, but you have to get used to the taste.

I also think that the powder form has much more nutrition than a small pill could possibly contain

Right you are. I am a big fan of green foods and have sold them for over 20 years. The only green food I am wary of is The Klamath Lake blue green algae. I'm not saying it's not good but I'm not sure it's completely safe because of possible contamination, and it's much more expensive then the other algae's. Spirulina has a long human history of use.

So youve been taking this now for what, 11 days?
Any noticable change in your overall wellbeing? Or is it too soon to tell?

2 months now, the bottle is nearly empty.

honestly, i feel wonderful and there have been satisfying improvements both mentally and physically, which i can attest to from my own experience.

i will definitely be continuing to take spirulina probably for my entire life. :yesnod:

4lbs of it is coming my way. this really seems to be the best deal out there at the moment. the link is a few posts up.

The problem with Odwalla is that they pasteurize their juices (like every other juice comapny, heh). Fresh is the way to go.
