im going to the NBA.......

i had an epipheny last night, and i've decided im going to charge after my deepest dream

i've have truly truly realized my personal legend, and that is to go to the NBA.

I am an NBA player, that is my dream and i've decided that there is nothing that will stand in my way.

All my life, i have always wanted to go to the NBA, and this dream of mine has been within me for as long as i can rememeber. but as i got older, people would tell me different and how hard it is to go to the NBA. i began to realize that it is a very difficult thing to accomplish, or at least this is what people would make it seem like.

but now

i realize, that it is simple. all i have to do is intend and truly believe in myself that i can do it, and carry out the action of practicing and hard work. and within the past few days, i have slowly guided myself to the decision that, I am an NBA player. it is my dream and i might as well go for it while im young because i dont want to see myself in 20 years, regreting to myself that i didnt go after my dream. i dont want to look back and wonder what could've been, wat might've happened if i tried. I'm not going to try, I WILL.

many people in this world doubt themselves worry and instill fear into themselves that their dream is too hard to accomplish or, they dont think they can do it. i honestly was one of those people until NOW. NOW i will forever strive to one day play in the NBA.
i can honestly say that, i believe in myself whole-heartedly 100% that i will do it.

if you have read this, you possibly could be thinking to yourself "there is no way this guy is going to make it". but i dont not care what anyone thinks anymore. i believe in myself, all i need is myself. we as humans are designed to never lack anything, and im truly realizing that we as humans can do whatever we want to do in this world, as long as we BELIEVE and go for it. and if you dont belive what im saying, heres a quote to reinforce it

i feel and think in my heart that i am an NBA player. i have completely convinced my mind and subconscious of this. i used to doubt myself and fear, and think about all the other people in the world who want to do that same thing i want to do. i dont care anymore, all i care about now is fufilling my goal. i only have one life, only one, and with this 1 life i have i am going for my dream... im going to the NBA people......

How do go about getting drafted into the NBA? Or being placed on the draft for that matter? Do they even have a draft?

I really have no idea.

not to burst you bubble, but if you're 18+ years old, not playing D1 college basketball or in the NBA already, then your chances are very very slim

how would you fair 1v1 against Greg Odin?

And that's an unfair question. A) Basketball isn't a 1v1 game, so if he's not aiming to be a super star it doesn't really matter. B ) If you really cared how he would do, it wouldn't be against Oden, but against one of the best players in whatever position he wanted to play. Say this dude is 6'6" without a serious long range game, Oden would fucking crush him.

Greg Oden is the only player entering the NBA draft that I could name

seems like a fair comparison

hooper is probably 18-22 years old, so is Oden
hooper has decided to go to the NBA, so has Oden

if hooper wasn't playing in the NCAA tournament this year, his chances of getting to the NBA are fucking unlikely...

how many players out of 64 teams in the NCAA tournament ever play a game in the NBA? not to mention the players on the other 200ish NCAA D1 teams

it's great to be dedicated and have aspirations, unfortunately, hooper has a better chance at winning the lottery

Oh I understand this. I'm just saying that trying to compare him to potential superstars is unfair. The reasonable thing here is that hooper is aiming to become a reserve on someone's roster or something, at least at first. So it isn't really required that you can beat Oden 1v1. You'd have to have good basketball IQ, and good athleticism so you are actually useful in practice. If anything offensive skills are the last thing you need.

being good at basketball is a plus, when you're going to try out for the NBA. I happened to be walking past a b-ball court one day, on an Island off of WA state, and just happened to hear the short fat spaztic retard say over and over, "Hoopew shwoomew da best, hoopew shwoomew...", while he spazticly threw the basketball into the general vacinity of the hoop.

i knew there would be doubters, i knew it. but i do not care wat anyone thinks.

the thing about the nba is that, everyone thinks you need to go through D1 college ball to get to the nba, but little do people know that there are MANY players in the league who didnt go through college, and who were just naturally talented and played all the time and were able to try out and walk onto a team. there are many other ways to make it into the leaugue. its not just confined to one way getting there, through college, that is not true. the thing is, there are ballers out there at this very moment good enough to play in the league but sometimes, people just dont get the break. they dont get that oppurtunity so no one really knows how good they are except for maybe local people.

has anyone ever heard of "Earl "the goat" manigault? if you havent i suggest you look up that name and you will see just how good of a baller this guy was. He is without doubt according to many basketball historians and legends of the NBA that he was the best player to never play in the NBA. he was 6'2, roughly, grabbing quaters-20$ bills off the back board, with his 52 inch verticle leap. this man could dunk two balls at the same time. he could even dunk the ball, grab it and dunk it again. He was said to be even BETTER than MJ, or at least he had the potential to be, but he just never got the breakt to play in the NBA. Kareem Abdul Jabar even said himself, that Earl "the goat" Manigault was THE BEST player he had ever played against, and this man never went to the league.

people, i have my reasons. i know i can fucking do this, i know i can, i believe in myself. i try to not even let the thought of me not making it even cross my mind, but, if i never make it, i will die knowing that i at least tryed to go and grab my dream with the one life i have and there is not a human being out there that can fault me for that. i at least didnt just imagine and wonder wat couldve been if i tried. im going to do this, and i know about the haters out there but i dont care. anything is possible in this world for those who believe, i believe.

btw- as far as my age and height goes, ill say that im younger than 19, and im about 5'10. Im a good player, i know the game, but i need to work harder and learn alot more, and i accept and embrace that

the way i see it, is if all i do and think about is basketball, and all i strive to be is an NBA player, and i honestly truly believe in my heart that i can do it, the NBA cannot help but come to me. its the way the universe works...
