internet hacking

I had a friend once when I was younger who was into hacking for a while and said he had a program that allowed him to hack into other peoples computer so he could

1. spy on their activity
2 mess their screen settings up
3.control their mouse
4.turn their computer off


And other nasty things likle that...

Is all that stuff actually possible?

That's not hacking. Thats lame was "progz."

It was called BackOrfice. I fucked around with it in highschool. It won't work on anyone that has ANY half assed virus protection now.

But for real, hackers that use programs to do that, aren't hackers.

[EDIT] Incidently, I downloaded a book called Hacking for Beginners. Course, its meant to do some white hacking...it has a disclaimer and everything.

Yeah there are "cirtrix" base programs and most of the time the person would have to grant you access to their comp. Otherwise VNC and such if you can find their IP you can get on.
The most basic "middle school" hack trick is they give you a pop up that says "hit the xxx or click the xxx" and you win. If you touch those they basically get mailed your IP address so they can get on your comp.
Just dont click those "win this" links and dont open porn mail.

If you're on the name network as someone (on windows) you can use the

shutdown -m \\computername -f

That's good for internet cafes and school wifi.

Go to assist
We use it where I work, I do tech support, go to assist is my favorite but VNC will work if they are running terminal services because terminal services basically wont allow you to download or save anything when you're in with citrix.

We used the command line "shutdown -m \\computername -f" and subseven back when I was in high school to fuck around with people.

We use Citrix at my work too, but we just use metaframe.

Thats not even a script kiddie dude.. script kiddies at least know how to bounce around shells and compile an exploit.

Someone that can download a WINDOWS trojan and send it to their unsuspecting friends is just an idiot.

As for citrix metaframe.. there are several exploits (out in the open.. the better ones are 0day) that allow you to take control of a session. My old school used to use citrix; and I ./'d their server changed their website :smile:

Once upon a time I was a script kiddie of sorts.. I used to deface pages, trade shells and swap 0days.. I didn't actually code anything useful; except for a few bash rootkits that wget'd shit and cleaned up logs..

another thing.. windows hacking is nearly always trojans.. Especially in the 2000/XP/vista versions.. as there isn't a true 'shell' for you to work on.

Most of the time windows exploits (remote execution / BO's) tend to grab some sort of trojan so you can actually use the windows box / turn it into part of your botnet.

'Hacking' server machines; ones that run some sort of *nix variant are much more fun.. especially ones that have a 100mbit backbone :grin: I used to have a big ole botnet back in the days..
