Hey everyone I was just wondering if there is anything else I could use to heat the water to the needed temperature in the use of a water bath style terranium incubator?

I got my Tronic 200W for only $30. I really don't think it's worth cutting corner when it comes to the pressure cooker or the incubator. I don't think there are any other safe options...heating pads would have to be VERY hot to penetrate the base tub to even heat the water let alone transfer the thermal heat energy into the inner tub. Just buy a Tronic!!

Well...If you can stick to a schedual you might get away with using just plain old hot tap water in plastic pop bottles. It might take practice finding just the right schedual to keep your 'lil buddies at the right temperature but the price is right. I bought a heater for 12 bucks at pet smart though, not all that expensive. Good luck!

Um, nevermind, I just re-read the original post. Pop-bottles filled with hot water wouldn't work in any sort of way for your type of terrarium. Sorry bout that.

Just use a Water Proof heating pad. You can get them at Walmart. Keep it at low and it will keep your shrooms at a perfect temp.

I got my aquarium heater at a pet store for 14.95. You can get 25, 50, 100,200 and even 300 watt ones for about the same price. I got a 100watt, cause i think you would roast your jars with anything higher.

Try a giant microwave, or a killer laser beam mounted on a satellite. Better yet, just buy the damn heater. Don't steal one though. Only scumbags steal.
