good new bands

I'm looking for some current bands out there. i like all kinds of music... jazz, rock, electronic, reggae, foreign, jam bands. any suggestions?

:rolleyes: TOOL is not the be-all end-all of music.

He was asking for new bands, too. TOOL is 10 or 12 years old or so.

I'm obsessed with Tool. But not in a obsessive way. They're all fucking geniuses, especially Maynard. Every time I hear Triad I come. A Perfect Circle is good too.

disgrace in what sense?

Not sure how new Porcupine tree or Oceansize are but great bands.

Silversun Pickups is alright too.

I struggle to find new acts I like compared to in the 90s. Back then you had all of Warp going on (Boards, Squarepusher etc) a lot of great guitar stuff and some good hiphop (Tribe, Ugly Duckling and that). But maybe thats cos I was a teenager then and much more into smoking weed and chilling to bands/buying cds. Probably.

Tool irritates me but A Perfect Circle is by far the worse of the two. I consider A Perfect Circle and Maroon 5 the worst bands to ever be formed and although it pains me to say this I'd rather listen to Avril Lavigne's new song over them any day.
