firefox annoyance (flashing text-bar)

for some reason my browser has started having the flashing text bar show up on every page (like when you open any text program and the thing is flashing waiting for you to type)

help me make it go away, please

Does it still happen if you run Firefox with the -safe-mode flag?

Go to Start | Run and type in:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode

It basically disables all the extras, and temporarily puts Firefox in a pristine state. If you don't have the problem in safe mode then one of your add-ons or plugins is causing the behavior.

tried that and I'm still having the issue


I did, however, uninstall two of the add-ons cause I don't remember them being there to begin.

Hmm, that sucks. If you remember when it started happening, I'd try doing a system restore. Otherwise you could get TweakUI and mess with the settings under General | Focus. Good luck.
