I hate English

Writing essays on a Friday night sucks. Especially analytical essays. At least it's Good Friday, so there isn't really shit to do anyway. Campus is a ghost town tonight. I could go for some pot (haven't said that in quite some time), but I don't even know where to find any.

i'm gonna do work tonight too. macro exam on monday, 5 page econ paper due tuesday, 5 page philosophy paper due wednesday. and i've gotta work tomorrow and sunday. so i should really get as much done tonight as possible. at least half of one of the papers.

Luckily this is only a 3-4 paragraph type essay, grammar and punctuation don't count. I've had since Wed. to do this, and it's the only class I had today and my prof canceled it, so I had allllll day to work on it. But of course I procrastinated and decided to give myself only an hour to complete it. Only the second week of classes though, and I think I'm a good writer, so I should get a good enough grade since it's not really a major assignment.

We have to compare the Declaration of Independence to an essay Elizabeth Cady Stanton (women's rights leader of the mid to late 1800s) wrote that basically paraphrases the Declaration. Stuff like why she wrote it that why, how that helps or hurts he argument, what rhetoric is used.

Luckily I kind of like writing. Definitely more so than any other aspect of college work. So I don't really mind English as much as most other subjects, it's just that I always put off papers. I blame a weak public school system that enabled me to throw together papers last minute and still get As on my habits.

Because nothing is ever my fault.

I enjoy writing too when I have a subject that to me seems worthwhile to write about.  Comparing two different pieces of writing in an essay is definitely not something I consider worthwhile.  I tend to enjoy writing more if I get to choose the subject.  :smirk:

Yeah I do too, but I definitely recognize where this will help my reading and writing skills overall, so I'm not minding it so much. I guess I should have titled this post "I hate my terrible habits and how they lead to academic probation."
