so it's freshman year, right...and the english teacher goes up to the board and writes the following:

he then asks for a volenteer to come up to the chalk board to put in the proper punctuation

a younge man from the class gets up and does so thusly:

Quote:

A woman, without her man, is nothing.

"good" he says "now...can anyone tell me WHY this is the proper way to punctuate this sentance?"

"That doesn't look right to me" Daisy Dyke interrupted

puzzled...the teacher asks her to come up to the board and 'fix the problem'

and this is what she wrote:

A woman: without her - man is nothing.

the teacher could already see that this was going to be a very LONG year :nonono:
