Skinny Pin & Fat Pin Why? W/ Pics Knowledge Please

I have 2 casings going 1 of them has very skinny pins, Id say the diameter of a straw... This one is treasure coast.... There are very few viable pins maybe 9 of them.... This one is in an aluminum tray
My other is PESA and the pins are fat and theres tons of them , many look very good. This one is in a plastic tray
Both are in the same environement, both were cased the same way the only difference is one is in plastic container and the other is in a aluminum pan.
Anyone know why this is happeneing? Is it genetic? or typical of the strains? something to do with substrate thickness? im confused
heres some pics
Skinny treasure coast Pins and the yellowing mycelium NOT contams
Fat PESA Pins No yellowing
Now please remember both these casing sit in same environment less then 5 inches from each other.... So either I did something wrong on the Aluminum tray or what?
Thanks peeps.... the help is appreciated

Patience my friend...a knowledgeable person will read this soon I'm sure. Your PESA casing looks "textbook" to me. Best of luck with both grows!

yeah I have no idea where the TC went wrong...... Im never using metal trays again though, they get all eroded and shit on the bottom way too fast... Plastic seems like the wise choice.

Your TC looks fine to me those other pins are probably just slackers. Your next TC flush will be better, also what substrate and how thick? PESA are great yielders, dense stems.

sustaret was like 1 inch thick.. left kinda chunky.. I think its something wil the aluminum tray that helped stunt there growth and turn the mycelium yellow.
The only difference between both trays is plastic and aluminum and the strain...
they both are kept in the same environment inches away from each other so I assume since the only visible difference in the aluminum.. it must be the type of aluminum try im using, maybe its tin? and not aluminum.. after all I did get em at the dollar store...
im gonna use plastic for now on though, seems just better and much more reusable.
thanks durban for you input it sounds logical
anyone else have any ideas? suggestions?

Looks like you have a little more overlay in the top pic (the one in the aluminum pan).
A friend of mine use to grow in aluminum pans and she wasn't pleased. They'd corrode and they were flimsy....most dollar stores sell plastic trays.
They look nice

Yeah I agree the top one did suffer a lil bit of overlay I let it incubate a lil longer then I should have initially.
I strongly beleive the aluminum is leaching into the substrate/casing and causing some problems... AFter the first flush is it possible to crumble and re case? with success??

I remember reading somthing about this. I think it has somthing to do with the mycelium making the moisture acidic and it reacts with the foil causing it to inhibit growth. Im not compeltly sure but i know it has somting to do with a chemical reaction with the tin foil.
