The american culture is "work to live."

I don't see it that way. Work may be a way to survive, but its certainly not a way to live. Work, travel, experience. Its the only to truly feel free.

Please, please, see all that you can. Explore all that you can, experience all that you can.

It literally makes me sick to my stomach to think that I'm wasting my life working a job to make money, to prepare for death.

Why do 90% of us, make death as our life's goal...to save up for, to prepare for?

We're all gonna die someday, but at least I'll go knowing I have more stories to tell.

It seems very simple. But, with all that goes on in life today, it can blind the weary traveler.

You really have to be sharp to find out what life's about, then you realize that it isn't about anything. Just the experience.

Must be a weird feeling knowing that youe only reason in life is to experience it.

Yeah I mean it's not like we had a choice to be put here. If we did make a conscious choice to be in this life don't you think we'd remember it?


I can remember from like, parts of age 3-4 on. Age 3 is stretching it, I mostly remember names and images but it's still weird trying to remember when exactly I recognized me as "ME".

Never been homeless, but I know what it's like to stuggle. There's probably no worse feeling than knowing your not capable [at the moment] to support yourself. It's a real motivator.

Eh, homeless is just a word. Mean, you're without your creature-comforts.

My pack is my home. I love it, I live it.

I've always thought the most active creatures would live the longest. Such as, if you're really struggling to make it on your own, then you'll love longer, seeing as how all your effort is focused on surving.

life is about doing things.


it's about passion. it's about finding something you like and doing it. maybe you work so you can afford to do other things that you like...so be it.

it's about self-appreciation, self-satisfaction, self-discipline, etc.


if you think that American life is just about working, youre hanging out with the wrong kind of people. and shame on them.

Yeah it's like all of a sudden you're injected into a certain collection of activities. About 80 years of activity according to this day and age. Once you realize, "Oh okay, looks like I'll be here a while.", it's easier to buckle down and pick a niche; somewhere where you feel comfortable in this life.

We all need more then stuff and money. Those of us that are human anyway.

I am like Spinoza, not as insightful sure, but I AM like him. I would rather work less. And create more art, write for books and poem. ETC To me this is what life is truly about. And while I am not paid for these things now, I might be eventually, and until then, I will work less.

So I have time for school, and my art.

Spinoza made less then many people at his time, but he got by, lived a great life, and had lots of time to think.

But, a great job, one that really fulfills a person, and provides a decent income, is quite a joy as well.
