In quick reply if you click the Link button and paste your link you get [ url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrapple][/url] without the space after the [

That first ] needs to be earlier, like before the = or something

Hmm, I'm not sure I understand. When you enter a link, you should end up with something like this, where the cursor is at the position of the asterisk:

[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrapple]*[/url]

The title of the link goes there, so a proper link would be:

[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrapple]Scrapple at Wikipedia[/url]

This is how it's always been and it seems to still work fine for me. Am I misunderstanding the problem?

Scrabble

Once you paste the link into the Link icon and click okay, your cursor will automatically be placed where you need to type the text. I thought it was broken too, at one point. Paste the link again and after you click OK, look closely and you will see where you need to type the text. Your cursor will be in that spot. It comes up blank because you never entered any text into the URL.

Where I typed 'Scrabble' is where you can type text to complete the URL. It comes up blank because you didn't type any text. I hope this helps.

It comes up blank if you just click the URL button, paste a URL in, hit 'ok', and then post. After pasting the URL and hitting 'ok' you then have to type a title for the URL. If you don't want to type a title just paste the URL directly into the post without using the special URL button.

Yeah maybe there should be an option stating whether or not you'd like to put a title in when you click the URL button and if you opt not to it would automatically put the URL itself as the title for you. That would eliminate the problem. :shrug:

The box comes up. I paste the URL and then it goes into the reply box. And then shows up as nothing.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

Stein, your link is blank because you aren't specifying a title. Put down the bong for a minute and re-read my post, I think you'll see what I mean. This may be a usability issue but it's not a bug. It's been this way ever since the new BB code editor was introduced.
