Scoring it on the top side, and putting right on the edge of a table usually worked for me. Score it pretty deeply, line the score up right on the edge of the table, and break it off. It helps if you put a board on the part hanging over the table so there's even pressure all along it.

I think you can cut it with a jig-saw if you spray water to keep it cool. The last time i tryed to cut the stuff i used a jig saw with a "special blade" that i got from my neighbor. Not sure what kind of blade it was. It worked fine until the plexi melted, stuck to the blade and cracked. At least thats my theory on it.

I bought a little cutter that is specialy for plexy glass. It was on a rack by the stuff. It looks a little like a utility knife but has a hooked blade for good scoring action.

Scoring it seems to work the best I would agree. The way I did it was to trace my shape then heat up a scapel and slowly score it down the line. Takes a little bit but works. You dont have to heat it up. You need to score it deep as hell and break it off evenly.

If this is thin acrylic a razor knife should be good enough. Plexiglass is harder but for both these things a dremmil rotary hand tool is ideal!! Fast & Neat. Somebody you know probably has one so ask around.

dremel or a skil saw.
you would put down masking tape.....and cut with a skil saw and it would be fine.

I have successfully cut plexi and acrylic using the following methods. 1. Scoring with a xacto knife then clamping on a table edge with c-clamps and a straight edge and snapping it off. 2. Cutting on a table saw. 3. Cutting on a band saw. 4. Cutting with a roto-zip tool. Of all 4 methods using the roto-zip was the easiest and allows you to make curved cuts with the sharpest corners. I have also used the roto-zip to cut holes in my humidifier to add hoses to it.

Cut plexi-glass?? Why on earth would you need to do that when theres a million gimps sitting on there ass at home depot with a big tool to do it for you? Send a female in for best results, this way you can also get a special "clearence" price on the plexi glass because ur only paying for the exact piece u need.. they have scraps around just for this.. I even braught my cooler in there and told the guy what i needed and he cut it for me.

Hey TripySmurf are you saying that a person can go in and buy the cut off pieces at a reduced price?

Yes thats exactly what im saying. I paid two dollars for mine and even got it cut for that price At the home depot... but like i said send ina female for best results
BTW im sure its possible to cut plexi glass with a hacksaw you guys are probly doing something wrong.... u want to have it hanging off the edge of a table or something and cut as close to the table without damaging it ... put a hand on the plexi glass first.... but some hacksaws are meatn for wood and shit make sure it has a close pattern on the blade
