Would spraying my walls with Lysol do any good?

This is kind of a theoretical question...I wanna see if I can get away with using a pseudo glove-box. Picture this: a fish-tank (or bin or whatever) turned over on it's side so that the top (the opening) is facing you; douse with sanitizer ––– there's your glove-box. Then just sanitize your hands/arms and do your work! What do you think? Sure, it's not as effective as a real glove-box, but it's a helluvalot more conveniant and a helluvalot better than doing nothing but wiping down the table.

Not worth the effort. All or none. Your method will not achieve the effect of a glovebox.

I'm thinking it would greatly reduce the risk of contams though, because the only air entering the "glove box" would be from the front ––– that's 5 possible entryways for contams being eliminated :cool:

The air inside would also remain sanitized ––– and I wouldn't do this with a current blowing into the box :grin:

Air moves. It would reduce contaminants maybe slightly, but not exceptionally well. The point of a glove box is for sterilization and still air.

People who don't use glove-boxes sanitize their general work-area...this would just be sanitizing a small, contained work area...

I don't mean to seem like I'm arguing it's just that it seemed like a great idea to me and I'm reluctant to scrap it.

It is NOT contained. That is my point.

You can try it if you want, and if your sterile techniques are good, it should be successful, just as it would if you did it on a table top.
I'm saying- it is NOT the same effect as a glovebox. It is not uncirculating air, and it is not contained.

Take that same aquarium and stretch saran wrap over the opening, and then cut two holes just large enough for your arms to get in. Wear latex gloves and go to work.
