"Top" rolling tobacco. (That cheap stuff)
    #6627287 -

A friend and I were debating whether or not this stuff contains nicotine.  I say it does, but my friends claims it doesn't because he feels like he's going through withdraw even though he's smoking them.  What's the deal?

Tell him to roll some fatties, and puff on those, he'll never want to smoke again.

Cigarettes contain a whole lot more addictive chemicals than just nicotine.

He's right. The Top tobacco won't fill that same desire as a cigarette.

But Top tobacco still has nicotine in it.

Of course it contains nicotine.

IME, when I dont have normal cigs, roll-ups really dont help with the withdraws and cravings. I end up smoking more of them, in those cases.

Pretty sure it has something to do with the additives in normal OTC pre-rolled smokes.

Yeah that makes sense. I told him he should just use them to ween himself off then...

I remember I was able to do that using these cheap indian reservation cigs, then I just broke it off cold turkey.

That's probably becuase he's used to smoking Camel Turkish Gold and Silvers or some other crap that's just laden with additives. When you're used to an additive free smoke, the additive taste is very apparent and nasty and the afformentioned fancy Camel brands even leave a bitter residue on your lips. The fancier a cigarette's name is, the more additives it likely has. Something like "Camel Turkish Gold Royales" is going to have more additives than "Camel Wides".

Yep, it's the additives that he's also addicted to. I switched to smoking a pipe a few years back, and there were definite withdrawal symptoms from whatever they put in cigs.

I only smoke roll your own tobacco and it is much more satisfying than tailor made ciggies. The smoke is thicker and smoother and dosen't have the horrible 'raspiness' of tailor mades. I smoke Park Drive or Port Royal rolling tobacco and have been smoking for 12 years.
