Been playing vg's since I was like 4 and to this day I play them and also listen to game soundtracks  have to admit...some games have catchy tunes.

This ones from castlevania 2 for the nintendo 8 bit.

You might like Machinae Supremacy, it's like heavily influenced by videogame music. They even use old school midi interfaces. Also, i'm totally playing Bloody Tears on guitar.

Check out www.vgmusic.com - all you could ever want, in MIDI format!

Have you checked out The Minibosses? (They stole my idea! But I love 'em for it ... www.minibosses.com) They play a medley of Mega Man 2 stuff (and they also play Castlevania 2), two of my favorite games for music by far (next to FF III (VI) ).

My boss thinks I'm a total dork for rocking out to VG music, but then again, I catch him singing along to Journey (AHHH!) so we're pretty much even on that : )

Peace and Think,
P

Oooh man, The Legend of Zelda has allways had the best music. I owned both the soundtrack for Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.(Two of my favorite games)

Chrono Trigger for the snes had fantastic music for its time. There are a lot of orchestra versions goin around that are pretty sweet.

Great site for remixed and redone VG Music http://www.ocremix.org/

Also, check out the oldschool Toejam and Earl. Quite Possibly the most psychedelic video game ever.

“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own two eyes. All is a miracle.” -Thich Nhat Hanh
