I really like what I have seen so far, but I am going to need to smoke a bowl, and sit down with a coffee and read this whole thread through later. It's long! and I gotta run soon.
But for now all I will say is this, I admire your drive and enthusiasm. GOOD LUCK.

A persons interest should never be repressed. This is a time of free speech, where we are blessed to be able to speak our mind.
As any intelligent professor should note. Perhaps he/she is butt hurt over never getting anything published.

Needless to say, I am being either very bold or very ignorant/arrogant and 'stupid' in putting these pieces forward for assessment.
You're being very bold, not ignorant or arrogant.
Quote:
I could never comfortably start conforming to miniscule meaningless pieces about loving material possessions.
Good. I've dealt with materialistic/self-absorbed essays for the past four weeks and I gotta tell you... it's worse than a piece about enjoying oranges.
Quote:
I'm hoping that eventually my teacher will come around and appreciate it.
I doubt it... do what you need to do to get the A. I'm not saying to give in. Your work is not terrible, and every individual experience is original. As students, we all get dealt the shit hand as far as our instructors go. After the grilling he gave you, I'd push it to a certain limit and if it doesn't succeed with him let it succeed somewhere else.

perhaps remove the reference to Lucy, yet not completely forget about her in the work.
You'll murder the piece.
I've got another play to write tonight as well as a non-fiction essay (lol) so I'm off. Take care and good luck, fellow journeyman.

Sounds like you are trying to explore new territory, just don't expect an institution like school to approve.
You gotta choose your battleground dude

S_2 plays with the lexicon bell better than I. His words ring true.
-------------------- "You must be the change you want to see in the world." - The trip of a Life Time. Indra's Net - There is an endless net of threads throughout the universe. The horizontal threads are in space. The vertical threads in time. At every crossing of threads there is an individual. And every individual is a crystal bead. The great light of absolute being illuminates and penetrates every crystal being, And every crystal being reflects not only the light from every other crystal in the net, But also every reflection of every reflection throughout the universe. -cK
