a simple computer question-please help, this is fucked !

any help would be grand. this is what is happening- for instance when i click on a pick here or any other website the new window comes up with the tool bar etc. but the page just says microsoft int. explorer in blue area on top of page with nothing in the search bar-it is blank.any idea's? it happened 2 days ago out of no where/did virus scan,lavasoft ad-aware,etc.still happening.who ever helps me clear this problem gets a heimia salicifolia plant that is nicely established plus whatever seeds i decide to send along.thanks.i want to see all these pics and know this blows.

bump,i can't even use my smileys because they open in a new window and that window is just white.i have an offer on the table for help and i'm good for it.

i've heard firefox is good,thank you.i am pretty sick of microsoft i.e. maybe that would work?

1)Go to Tools-Internet Options-General. Click delete cookies and delete files and be sure to check the box that says delete all offline content. You may have turned off pictures on webpages. This is most likely the problem. Go to Tools-Internet Options-Advanced-and scroll down to multimedia. Click Restore Defaults to make sure all the right boxes are checked.

2)Make the switch to Mozilla.

3)There could be something wrong with your computer's display and that's why it won't show pics. Go to Start-Run-and type dxdiag. DirectX runs a lot of media stuff, so go to the tabs that say Direct X Files and Input make sure at the bottom it says no problems found. Then go to display and make sure everything is enabled and do the test directdraw and test direct3d.

4)The last non-virus thing I can think of is a problem with Java which also runs lots of media stuff. Something could have happened to it, so go to http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp and download/install the free software.

5)You could still have some sort of virus you don't know about, so go to http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp for a complete, free, and extremely thorough scan. It will take a while, so do it when you won't be on your computer for a while. It also might be the last thing you try since it takes a few hours.

6)If none of that works...sorry. I've had my share of computer trouble and I know its a fucking nightmare. The last thing I can tell you to do is to go to Start-run-and type msconfig. Then go to the Startup tab. Unclick everything you don't want to load when your computer turns on. Don't worry...anything essential for the computer will start up anyway so if you want you can just click disable all. If there is some sort of virus, it may be starting at startup and this could disable it. But, if nothing else, it will make your computer turn on a shitload faster.

7)Call Microsoft and/or your computer manufacturer.
