I mean... I agree with all of it.
Allan Watts basically takes everything I believe and puts it into understandable poetry.

I just wanted to share the video with people who may not understand Buddhism.

Alan watts rap about time reminded me of an interesting metaphor for historic time. It is somewhat similar to his snake analogy in that it represents the existence of the whole pattern in addition to just the observed part in the immediate nowness. Historic time is like reading a paragraph of sorts, we only read a couple words at a time and we can only really forsee a line or two, but the whole paragraph is in fact there from the beginning

Pippin: I didn't think it would end this way.
Gandalf: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path . . . one that we must all take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass...
Gandalf: ...And then you see it.
Pippin: What, Gandalf? See what?
Gandalf: White shores . . . and beyond. A far green country, under a swift sunrise.
Pippin: Well, that isn't so bad.
Gandalf: [Softly:] No... No it isn't.

"The universe is an intelligence test"--Timothy leary

Jumped in a river, what did I see?
Black eyed angels swimming with me
Moon full of stars and astral cars, all the figures I used to see
All my lovers were there with me
All my past and all my futures
We went to heaven in a little rowboat
There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt

that was wonderful, thanks

I like when he laughs spontaneously through his rap.  near the end, he's talking about how the untrained mind always wants something else, something more, and about how one should learn to accept and enjoy the reality of the present moment.  then he bursts out laughing.  that is the sign of a true mad philosopher.

If you are going to buy an allan watts book i recommend getting "The Way of Zen". I have read 4 of his books and this was by far the most "life changing" for me.

that was awsome man. At first i was skeptical about HOW time wasnt moving from the past, then I got it when he said something like, as you think about a past event you are in the present, therefore you are effected not by the past, but by the present. It seems like he ate alot of molly
definately going to check out the way of zen and the watercourse way

I highly recommend reading any of his books.
Alan Watts has been the catalyst in my spiritual path,
along with fungus of sorts...

I am currently reading Psychotherapy - East and West by a Mr. Watts. It is great so far.

Btw that video is not currently available for me? I think it is offline now?

Gonna watch this tomorrow when it's not 3 am and class at 9 am.

"You must be the change you want to see in the world." - The trip of a Life Time.

Indra's Net - There is an endless net of threads throughout the universe. The horizontal threads are in space. The vertical threads in time. At every crossing of threads there is an individual. And every individual is a crystal bead. The great light of absolute being illuminates and penetrates every crystal being, And every crystal being reflects not only the light from every other crystal in the net, But also every reflection of every reflection throughout the universe.
